Marsh Memoirs

The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Ramapo College have joined efforts to sponsor the Senior Environmental Experiences (Project SEE) with the goal of reaching and connecting approximately 4,500 seniors throughout New Jersey based on their shared experiences of living in the Meadowlands. Project SEE, funded by a generous grant from the National Science Foundation, will engage seniors in local environmental issues by creating an arena for residents to communicate their opinions and experiences about life in the New Jersey Meadowlands.

An interactive web site has been created as the forum for collaboration and discussion; seniors are able to access the web site and contribute their own content to participate in the project, using photos, video, audio, and text to share Meadowlands experiences. This content is displayed geographically on interactive maps of the region so interested viewers find information spatially. One map contains historical experiences, and the other contains personal memories.
As the site’s content builds, Project SEE will connect seniors and their various experiences in the Meadowlands to a vast audience of scientists, environmental educators, and New Jersey residents of all ages. Source:http://www.marshmemoirs.com/
